FMCSA launches driver screening data base, sort of Carriers and third-party driver service providers can start registering for the pre-employment screening program that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is creating. The site will eventualy provide access to a safety database you can use for screening driver applicants. However, the data is not available yet. The next step will be publication of notice in the Federal Register asking for public comments on the agency’s plan to make the records available. The registration web site is at www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov. There is no charge to register, but there will be a subscription fee and a per-record charge to use the system once it is up and running.               return
