Carriers needed for speed limiter and fuel consumption study
Whether or not your company uses speed limiters to restrict truck speeds, the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) would appreciate your participation in a research initiative. The intended result of the research is to document the impact speed limiters may have on a fleet’s fuel consumption and safety performance.
Since the research will document impacts from speed limiter use versus non-use, ATRI is soliciting involvement by carriers that use speed limiters and those that do not. Participation will involve ATRI collecting information from you relating to speed limiter use/non-use along with other safety and operational policies and metrics. The information collected remains strictly confidential, presented only in cleansed, aggregate form. If you need one, ATRI will provide a non-disclosure agreement to ensure confidentiality.
To participate, or if you have any questions, please contact Dan Murray of ATRI. Dan can be reached at 651-641-6162 or dmurray@trucking.org.
ATRI is the trucking industry’s 501(c)(3) not-for-profit research organization. It is engaged in critical research relating to freight transportation’s essential role in maintaining a safe, secure and efficient transportation system.
