Safety Management Council |
This council is for the fleet safety professional who wants to improve their safety management skills, stay current on new regulations and trends, network with other safety professionals in the trucking industry, and promote highway safety and sharing the roads. Activities include:
• educational programs to enhance fleet safety management skills (regular monthly meetings are held the second Thursday of the month, September through May)
• coordinating efforts to interest people in truck driving careers
• volunteering for public safety outreach projects
• organizing the Nebraska Truck Driving Championships
• recognizing top performers with annual awards for fleets, safety directors and drivers, as well as a Driver of the Month recognition program
How to join
Annual dues of $50 cover meeting notices, award programs and administrative expenses. Council membership belongs to your company. The company must be a member of the Nebraska Trucking Association, but as many individuals from your company as you wish may participate in council activities. This council is for the fleet maintenance and service professional who wants to improve their maintenance skills, stay current on changing technologies, network with other maintenance professionals in the trucking industry, and promote fleet maintenance careers. Activities include:
• educational programs to enhance maintenance and management skills (regular monthly meetings are held the first Monday-Tuesday of the month in Omaha and Grand Island, September through May)
• coordinating efforts to interest young people in fleet maintenance careers
• recognizing top performers with annual
awards for maintenance supervisors and technicians

Nebraska Logistics Council |
This council is a forum for professionals in transportation, distribution, warehousing and logistics. The council’s purpose is:
• to promote knowledge of logistics by holding informational discussions
• to encourage members to exchange information, experience and ideas
• to teach and encourage “best practices” in logistics management
• to develop educational tools for state agencies and lobbyists to encourage more interest into logistics-related jobs in Nebraska
• to form a professional, educational and informational council to benefit shippers, receivers, carriers, forwarders, warehousers and state economic development agencies
How to join
The Nebraska Logistics Council operates under the umbrella of the Nebraska Trucking Association. Membership is not required to attend meetings, but your company must be a member of the Nebraska Logistics Council to vote or to hold office. Movers and Warehouse Division |
This division is composed of Nebraska Trucking members who move household goods and operate storage facilities. It serves as a forum to deal with issues common to movers, whether you are a local mover or a long-distance one.
Moving is the only part of trucking still regulated by the Nebraska Public Service Commission (PSC), so the division deals with the PSC on tariff and other regulatory matters, doing its utmost to ensure that Nebraska movers are on a level playing field.
The division meets as needed. It communicates with members on any federal or state legislative issue that may affect movers, and advises the Nebraska Trucking staff and legislative committee on its unique concerns.

This division is composed of Nebraska Trucking members who have bulk liquid cargo tanks as part of their fleet. It serves as a forum to deal with issues common to tank carriers, such as hazardous materials regulations and cargo tank specifications and inspections.
The division meets as needed. It communicates with members on any federal or state legislative issue that may affect tank haulers, and advises the Nebraska Trucking staff and legislative committee on its unique concerns.
